🌸 Short Sleeve Crochet Cardigan – Free crochet Pattern

MATERIALS
-5 skeins of PINGO FIRST yarn in pink (base of the top)
-1 skein of PINGO FIRST yarn in white (flower petals)
-1 skein of PINGO ESTEREL 3 yarn in orange (flower centers)
-3 mm crochet hook (size 3)
-Yarn needle
-Scirssors
-Stitch markers (optional)

To make this cardigan, you will need 36 granny squares

STEP 1 – Flower center (orange color 🧡)
-Make a magic ring with 4 stitches
-Chain 3 (counts as 1 double crochet)
-Work 11 double crochets into the ring (12 double crochets total)
-Join with a slip stitch in the 3rd chain

STEP 2 – Petals (white color 🤍)
Change yarn color
-In one stitch: chain 3, work 2 treble crochets together, chain 2
-In each following stitch: work 3 treble crochets together, chain 2 (repeat 5 times)
You will have 6 petals.
-Join with a slip stitch

STEP 3 – Square formation (pink color🩷)
Change yarn color
-In a space : chain 3, work 2 double crochets
-In a space : work 3 double crochets
-In a space : work 3 double crochet, chain 2, workd 3 double crochets (corner)
Repeat to form the 4 corners :
-In a space : work 3 double crochets (x2)
-In a space : work 3 double crochets, chain 2, work 3 double crochets (corner)
-Once the round is complete, close with a slip stitch

STEPS 4 & 5 – 2 finishing rounds (pink color 🩷)
-For each side of the square : work 1 double crochets in each stitch
-For each corner : work 3 double crochets, chain 2, work 3 double crochets
-Once the round is complete, close with a slip stitch

Make the straps in the same color as the granny square borders (pink here 🩷).

STEP 1
-Chain 90 stitches
Work 3 rows back and forth in double crochets
-Rows 1, 2 et 3 : double crochets across the entire length

Use pink 🩷, matching the granny square borders.

The cardigan is made of 2 identical panels : front and back
Front panel : 18 granny squares
Back panel : 18 granny squares
-Invisible seam is recommended or slip stitch joining
-Join the granny squares horizontally (4 granny squares per row), then vertically (4 granny squares per row, except the outer edges with 5 granny squares)

-Repeat for both panels
-Join the two panels at the edges to form the top

Use pink 🩷, matching the granny square borders.

-Position the straps between rows 2 and 3
-Check symmetry before final attachment
